So everyone knows that I have seven sons in which I love dearly! But do you know I have some other children in my life that I love too. I have five nieces and one nephew,(2 of the nieces live in Texas in which I hardly get to see) that have a special place in my heart.
Truth be known, I love my sons. I do everything for them. Cooking supper, doing laundry, making beds, helping with homework. (thank goodness we got out of the dirty diaper stage!)Telling funny jokes and stories to entertain them. I get up early in the morning to see them off to school, and then stay up late to make sure everybody is sleeping well. Now I am not complaining in any matter. That's what a mother does, correct?
But when I'm with my sister and her children. Its funny. We click off our mommy mode, and turn on our auntie mode. We know that the other will watch our kids. We spoil them rotten. For instance, My 'lone nephew' went up and asked his momma for some ice cream. She said no..your going to eat dinner in a few minutes. Now, normally, I would tell him you have to listen to your mother. But out of the corner of my eye..I see her giving all of my sons, an ice cream. Ok, nah, hold on...you just told my nephew he had to wait for his...but your giving my sons some? She said 'Of course, they are my nephews..come on I only have 7?' Hummmm...yeah I told her..as I walking over to the freezer, grabbing 5 more Ice creams 'Well, I only have one!' I proceeded to give all my nieces one and my nephew two. The girls know that , Billy, gets what he wants..because he is the "lone nephew'.
Now don't get me wrong. Yes, he is the 'lone nephew'. But my nieces also get spoiled. Hair and make up, I stick up for them as only an Aunt could. (Especially, when they have a boy they like) Yes, they have other Aunts and Uncles.(Looking at it...two of them, have no children of their own, meaning they have 13 nieces and nephews. My brother has...8 nephews and 3 nieces. And my other sister, has 7 nephews and 2 nieces. I'm out numbered by far!) But, these children are my only nieces and nephews. I am blessed to be Aunt Adds to six wonderful children.
Until next time~
